Back from CONvergence!

At long last, I have returned from the wilds of the greater Minneapolis area, and the convention known as CONvergence.

To say that I had a great time would be a bit of an understatement. I got to talk Doctor Who with Paul Cornell (who wrote some of my favorite episodes!), and I had a cameo role in closing ceremonies. I had lunch with several authors. There will be an announcement about another addition to the SFWA archives sometime soon.

For now, though, I can finally announce another bit of information: I'm one of the Guests of Honor next year for this very convention, along with Catherynne Valente and Brian Keene.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Guest of Honor gig, well, it's sort of like being an invited keynote speaker at a professional library conference, but way more fun, because it's all about geeking out.

Me.

A Guest of Honor.

Wow. (!)

I'm really, really, pleased to have been invited, and I hope that I can live up to the awesomeness that is this convention. It is absolutely one of my favorites to attend, and I sincerely hope that any of you that have the means will consider doing so. It's a heck of a good time, with a lot of people that just love what they love, talking to each other about what they love. :-)
